HAPPY BEST DAY OF THE YEARRRR!

I love Halloween forever and always. Every day is Halloween when you're a recovering theater nerd like me, but I appreciate the opportunity to be able to go all out even more than usual at the end of every October. You already saw my handing out candy outfit this week, but here's this year's costumes:
On Saturday morning, I awoke with a start. I'd been dreaming about Siouxie Sioux (because duh), and I just knew that I HAD to be her for the costume party I was going to that night. Finding the outfit was no problem- it's all just stuff from my closet. Finding the right wig took a little while, but I ended up just cutting an "80s rocker" wig into a bob and it worked out PERFECTLY. The makeup was the hardest part. It took hours. I actually went as far as to employ the old drag queen trick of covering up my natural eyebrows with a glue stick and painting over them for this look.
Makeup is magic, no? Yes, I am aware my eyebrow is crooked and I assure you that I did fix it before leaving the house.
In case you're wondering, I used Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation with some no name white face powder dusted over top for my base, NYX gel eyeliner for my eyes/eyebrows, and Wet 'n Wild Berry Shimmer blush and Stoplight Red lipstick. I finished with some NYX matte finishing spray, and my makeup stayed 100% perfect, even through a sweaty dance party.

The costume that I'm less happy with is the one I've been working on the longest. I've known since March that I wanted to be a Spring Breaker for Halloween this year, and I just feel like I'm not really pulling it off that well. I feel it's missing something, but I can't put my finger on what. Maybe you guys can help.
Ladies and gents, this is without a doubt my worst photo editing job of all time. So proud :')
So what do you guys think, should I dress up as a deathrocker all year round? I'm thinking I at least need to dye my hair black. It'd be a waste of incredibly pale skin not to. Should I use more bronzer with my Spring Breakers costume? So many questions on that one.

What are you/have you dressed up as this year? Be safe out there tonight!

  2. I might have to scrap the Spring Breaker costume and just go for that again! Maybe I can convince my bf to be Robert Smith...

  4. HOLY SH--. You killed me. I'm dead. Because of how amazing you are. LOVE Siouxsie Sioux. I'm going as Faith Lehane from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm going to try to get a blog post up with my costume. Was debating Sporty Spice.

  7. Haha, this post made me laugh so much! You look so much like Siouxie, it's awesome! One of the best costumes I have seen this year. I think the winner is still this tiny kid who dressed up as Charlie Chaplin, you can't beat that,

  10. Your Siouxsie Sioux costume is epic, you totally nailed it.

I think the thing that's missing with the Spring Breaker costume is skin. It probably needs a neon bikini and some fake tan.

  12. You killed it as Siouxsie! I'm an "OG" (original goth) from the '80s and a long time Siouxsie fan. Even back in high school, with my mad hair teasing skills and multiple cans of VO5 hairspray, I was never able to get my hair to look that Siouxsie-like. And I never had the makeup skills, no matter how much I practiced. You look great!
