An announcement.

For the past couple of months, I have been hinting at the fact that I have taken a new job. Now that I am legally allowed to blab about it, I wanted to share that I have accepted the position of brand manager for Re/Dress Online! Rachel Kacenjar of Cupcake and Cuddlebunny and Sweetooth Couture fame recently bought out Re/Dress from it's previous owner, and is now in the process of re-branding and sprucing it up a bit.

It's still online only for now, but we do hope to have a storefront again by 2014. Now, whether that will be in the Midwest or back in Brooklyn is anyone's guess at this point. (I am from the Midwest is Best school of thought, of course.)

It's been tons of fun and quite the learning process preparing for our re-launch. I'm learning many sides of the industry that are totally uncharted territory to me, from buying to photo styling to social media management. But I have to say, it's very frustrating and sad to see first-hand the state the plus size fashion industry is in right now. We have to search and search to find cute, on-trend options, and finding that above a 3X? We'd probably have more luck looking for Bigfoot. The goal of Re/Dress is to help change the game.

I actually got to shop at the original brick-and-mortar Re/Dress in Brooklyn a couple years ago, and it was a life changing experience for me. Just ask anyone who was ever lucky enough to shop there! I am so thankful for Rachel not wanting to let a good thing die, and even more honored to have been a part of it the last couple of years. My new position with the company is truly my dream job. I can't wait for the shop to grow and expand, but we will need your help! Rachel has started an indiegogo campaign to help us Restore Re/Dress. If you have even $5 to spare, every dollar counts in helping us get the shop back to where it was, and beyond! Plus, I'll get to keep my job.
