A lil sneaky peeky of my weekend with Simply Be...

I was lucky enough to go to NYC and meet the Simply Be US team and some awesome fellow bloggers this weekend. I'll be honest though, there really wasn't a whole lot of time to take photos. Plus, I only brought my 50mm lens with me and ya know, it can get a little awkward trying to shoot with a 50mm in a crowded room! Here's a few shots I did get though.

Nicolette and I have been internet friends for a few years, I was so psyched to finally meet her! She's just as great as you'd imagine. Peep this awesome Anna Scholz dress here. I'd totally wear it to the office if I even remotely cared what I looked like there.
A buncha well-dressed cuties. Dawww. This was our last shot of the day, before we headed to the Simply Be Spring 13 preview party where we got to drink lots of cocktails and schmooze with some new blogger friends.
Shamoneke and Kristin, my super cute partners in crime for the day.
I wasn't sure what I was or wasn't allowed to show you guys, so I got some ~mysterious~ detail shots. I'll link to where you can see more.
Floral Print Trousers. I definitely see myself in pants way more often this spring, preferably a well-cut trouser.
This shirtdress is not my style personally, but I couldn't help but obsess over the cutouts. You just never see a dress like this in plus sizes (by that I mean an actually on trend, well-cut, quality garment).
This dress is EVERYTHING. I have been doing the whole monochrome thing for a few years now, and I don't know if I'll ever get over it. Black and white is just so effortless, classic, and sharp-looking. Pair that color combo with a mod cut like this, and you've basically got my dream dress.

 What I wore...
THE MOST AMAZING GALAXY PRINT DRESS EVER. I wore it two days in a row, and on the plane ride home. Obsessed. So comfy, and can be easily styled for pretty much any occasion.
My trusty go-to winter heels (because of the low, chunky heel and boot tread on the bottom, as you can see).
Accessories are not my strong suit. I guess I just always completely overlook them when I'm shopping. They're less interesting to me than shoes or bags. These are my usual pieces, and I don't deviate much, which you will catch onto if you haven't already.

I got to sleep on this dreamy, fluffy bed for two nights. Sigh. Thank you again to Simply Be for flying me out and putting me up!
The last thing I did before heading back to Cleveland was have brunch with these babes. Amanda and Mattie run one of my favorite blogs ever. I totally jock their style so hard. They are so beautiful and sweet and fun, and have jobs I am deeply jealous of.
Sadly, I am now officially out of photos for the time being. I really really regret not taking more photos while I was there. I mean, how often do you get an all expenses paid opportunity to live the dream?

  3. Hey Hun! It's Helencita aka mrsfrankenstein on instagram and tumblr. Was wondering if you don't mind me asking...
In your last pic it looks like you're wearing something sheer under your jacket?
What exactly is it and where did you get it?
    LOVE the look!

  6. First off, YOUR DRESS. I am dying! It's so beautiful. I want. Secondly, this looks like so much fun! What a dream weekend. Also I totally understand the uselessness of a 50mm in some situations...it's just not practical.

  8. This looked like such a fun time! I bought that Anna Scholz dress but was disappointed when the blue part was proportionally smaller than they showed on the model. I might have to try it like yours with a black belt and see if it's a keeper afterall.

  11. I've wanted to shop there for their selection, but the shipping stories have put me off. Perhaps I should just go for it and try an order.
