I went to see Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel over the weekend. (D.V. supplied the title of this post!) It was so inspiring. I loved her attitude, particularly the concept of creating beauty by demanding it. As a fellow control freak, I felt validated. I took two really important lessons away from this film: while style can be learned, true originals are born that way, and the only way to stand out is to be your truest self. She lends herself perfectly to the documentary format, so I highly recommend seeing it if you are interested in fashion, photography, design, or just stories of interesting/influential people in general.
